Arenae Montes

Dictionary of Greek and Roman Geography

ARENAE MONTES according to the common text of Pliny (Plin. Nat. 3.1. s. 3), are the sand-hills ( Arenas Gordas) along the coast of Hispania Baetica, NW. of the mouth of the Baetis. But Sillig adopts, from some of the best MSS., the reading Mariani Montes. [MALXRIANU.]
