Insāni montes,

the insane mountains ( = τὰ μαινόμενα ὄρη), i. e. absurdly high, Weissenb. (acc. to others, the raging or stormy mountains ), a range in the western part of Sardinia , Liv. 30, 39, 2; cf.: Sardiniam Gracchus arripuit.
